It was a squeaker, with the top 3 places all within 1 second of each other.

Quick 5 minutes sleep after SXC Glentress at the weekend, and its the last round of the summer series.

Hope to see you there.

Unless you have night vision as your super-power, you will almost definitely need lights. I have two sets available for borrowing.

We are thinking of continuing to run this over winter, as a night race. Let me know what you think !!

I'll sort the series standings later tonite hopefully and put them on the website. I reckon it will be pretty close between Andy Barlow and Dougie Shearer in the mens. Get those tires up to 50 psi !!

summer2008seriesIt's tuesday, it's p***ing with rain, it must be Inners XC TT Summer series night !!

The course was a lot slushier last night, making the times marginally slower. Grant Ferguson was going for the victory again but punctured. Dougie Shearer put in an awesome ride under difficult conditions to take the win with a time of 45.30 in the Men.

Anja McDonald held on to her course record in the Women, in spite of attempting to handicap herself with a fully rigid singlespeed with singularly un-UCI friendly bars...

The split time was a dead heat between Crawford Carrick-Anderson and Chris Ball at 5.16, although I am seriously considering invoking the Taking It Too Seriously rule and giving a one second time penalty to Chris for that final sprint.

Somebody left a red jacket over the railings at the start, I have left it in the shop at I-Cycles if you want to claim it. In the drawer with the race kit.

The later start time seems to be working well, if you want to enter but are not sure you could make it for 7, let me know and I will start you at the back of the field.

summer2008seriesA hardcore group braved the rain, the midges (and the course) last night for the first event of the Summer Series. Grant Ferguson took the win on the night, with an impressive time of 41.54.

A small change for the next event, the first rider will start at 7.00, to give riders and our Doctor plenty of time to get through the traffic.

Series Rules

The races are insured by British Cycling and run under the BC Mountain Bike rules. Series points will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each category, 10 points for first, 9 for second and so on. At the end of the series, if two riders are tied for first place, the rider with the heaviest and most unsuitable bike will be deemed to be the series winner. We will be looking for help with marshalls and first aiders. Any rider who can help marshall at one of the races (or provide a marshall) will be credited with 10 series points. Will also pay £10 expenses or free entry at another race in the series to riders marshalling at one event. £20 expenses to first aiders. Contact helenmfindlay@yahoo.co.uk or stevendeas@hotmail.co.uk if you can help. Marshalls must be aged 16 or over.
