Race Team

Ross Wilcox Riding in the Youth category this year, Ross competes in both XC and DH often finishing in a 1-2 with his brother Stuart. In one legendary day in 2009 he took silver medals in both events at the British National Champs ! Who says you have to pick a discipline ?

Douglas Shearer Expert class rider, racing SXC, some of the NPS and 24hr stuff with the Glencroft Rabble. And the 'cross. Best result ? 2nd place at Sherwood Pines 2010. Quote: "At one cattle grid I almost became a human suppository, as both riders on the front failed to warn those behind, and braked rather suddenly and excessively." Dougie is not a fan of road racing !

Keith Forsyth Useful in most disciplines, Keith has shown his best form in the endurance events, winning the British 24 hour solo champs in 2010 in the Vets cat. He took that form to Australia for the World Champs, coming home with a bronze medal.

Scott Lindsay
Youth rider Scott rides in most disciplines, and won his category in the Scottish Cyclocross series in 2009. He also represented Scotland with Ross and Stuart in a mountain bike stage race in Belgium in 2010.

Ross Swinton

Our youngest team member, Ross rides the SDA and recently won the overall for his age group in our 2010 Mini Downhill Series.

Stuart Wilcox Also in the Youth category and as multi talented as his brother, Stuart's best result to date was winning the British XC champs on his home track in 2009. In his own words: "On a bleak and wet Sunday morning, it was time for the National XC Championships 2009. Lining up on the start line I was pretty nervous, but as the whistle blew I just concentrated on the race. Up the first climb I was 6th, and going into the first real descent I had the lead, albeit by only a few seconds! At the bottom of the fast but technical descent, I found myself with a sizeable lead due to my better technical skills. I pushed on to the top of the hill and after a cautious descent, ended up taking a win. A minute later I was pretty stoked to see my brother cross the line to take second place."

Stuart Nicholson is our newest team member, signing up for 2011. With a background in both DH and XC and some podiums in the Sport cat last year, Stuart will focus mainly on SXC and the UK Gravity Enduro Series in 2011.

And last but not least our shop sponsor Steven Deas owner of i-Cycles of Innerleithen. Or to give him his full title King of the Mountains, after his win in the No Fuss series in 2010. With a palmares as long as both arms, Steve is also the two time winner of the Strathpuffer with Keith in the men's pairs and says this about mountain bike racing: "My idea of mountain biking is cycling in mountainous terrain, stunning views with challenging climbs and descents away from the city, traffic and other pollutions. That is how I like my races, or as near to that as possible. I have never been interested in lots of spectators or what the atmosphere is, only the challenge and racing like-minded people."
